Article 1 Subject matter and scopeIt establishes the creation of the International Network of Inclusive Higher Education Systems (IHES Network) and the requirements for the voluntary incorporation of all persons and public and private entities interested in the university inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities with the aim of sharing resources, good practices and support.
Article 2. Fundamental PrinciplesInclusion and diversity: The network is committed to promoting an inclusive educational environment that values diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to cultural, ethnic, gender, socio-economic and ability diversity.
Collaboration: Collaboration between member individuals and entities is fundamental to the success of the network. It encourages the sharing of knowledge, resources and experiences to improve inclusive practices in higher education institutions.
Accessibility: All network activities and resources should be accessible to participants, regardless of their capabilities, geographical location or available resources.
Transparency: The network will operate with transparency in all its activities, decisions and processes. Open and honest communication between all members is encouraged.
Article 3. Objectives- To foster the creation of inclusive educational environments in universities, through collaboration and the exchange of resources and experiences.
- Promote research and development of good practice in the field of inclusive education in order to improve the quality of education for students.
- Provide support and guidance to universities in the implementation of inclusive policies and programmes.
- To raise awareness among the university community and society at large about the importance of inclusion and diversity in higher education.
Article 4. Organisational structureGeneral Assembly: The General Assembly will be composed of representatives of all the entities and the rest of the people who make up the network. It will meet at least once a year online to review the progress of the network, make important decisions and set priorities for the future.
Steering Committee: The Steering Committee will consist of a select group of representatives of member organisations and members, elected by the General Assembly. It will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the network, coordinating specific projects and taking decisions on behalf of the network between General Assembly meetings. Diversity of profiles, disciplines, institutions and territories will be sought.
Working groups: Specialised working groups will be set up to address specific issues related to inclusion and diversity in higher education. These groups will be open to all interested members and will be responsible for developing resources, organising events and promoting research in their thematic area. The working groups will include people with intellectual disabilities.
Article 5. Affiliation and membershipAny university, disability-related organisation or professionals from any discipline who share the principles and objectives of the network may apply for membership. Membership of the network can be applied for by accessing the registration system available on the IHES project website:

Final provisionsThe Network will publish the names of all members on the IHES project website. This document may be modified at any time by decision of the members of the network, provided that the established fundamental principles are respected. Any major change in the structure or objectives of the network will require the consensus of the majority of the members.
